Mass Protests Erupt Across the U.S. Against Trump: ‘No Kings’ Rallies Draw Huge Crowds

Across the United States, tens of thousands of demonstrators have taken to the streets to protest against President Donald Trump, accusing him and his administration of showing authoritarian tendencies. The nationwide movement, dubbed “No Kings”, represents the third major wave of protests against Trump since his recent controversial decisions.

According to organizers, the demonstrations took place at more than 2,600 locations across the country, attracting thousands of citizens demanding accountability and the preservation of democracy. While protesters are calling their campaign “No Kings,” Trump’s supporters have labeled them “Hate America Rallies,” claiming the events spread division.

Demonstrations in Major Cities

Reports indicate that massive gatherings were seen in Washington D.C., New York, Boston, Chicago, and Atlanta, among other cities. In the U.S. capital, demonstrators filled the streets and marched toward the Capitol Building in a carnival-like atmosphere. Participants carried banners, American flags, and balloons—some wearing colorful costumes—symbolizing their message that no leader should place themselves above democracy.

“I’m here for democracy and truth,” said one protester. “We stand against any attempt to seize absolute power.”

Another participant, Stephen Kenney, expressed fear over the growing loss of rights: “I’m scared for my democracy, for my immigrant neighbors, and for my community. My trans friends fear for their lives. At a time like this, showing up is the least I can do.”

A protester wearing a mask resembling Trump’s face added, “I’m a proud D.C. resident. I don’t want to see the military used against American cities just to silence dissent. I’m grateful that I can still protest.”

Global and Political Support

According to Reuters, solidarity rallies were also expected in smaller towns across the U.S. and even in several foreign capitals. The last major anti-Trump protest, held in June, drew millions. Organizers believe participation this time could be even higher due to recent policy controversies.

The marches were coordinated by over 300 grassroots organizations, led by Leah Greenberg, co-founder of the progressive network Indivisible. The movement has received open support from several U.S. lawmakers, including Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Trump Responds: “I Am Not a King”

President Trump has not yet issued a statement regarding the protests. However, in a recent interview given on Friday, he addressed criticism by saying, “They’re calling me a king… I’m not a king.”

Despite his remarks, protesters insist that their message is about safeguarding democratic norms and ensuring that no individual—no matter how powerful—can act without accountability.
