Iran Declares Victory Over Israel: Supreme Leader Khamenei Breaks Silence
Tehran, June 27, 2025 – In his first televised address since the recent conflict erupted, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared victory over Israel, stating that Iran had successfully thwarted all enemy plans and forced a retreat. Addressing the nation from what is believed to be a secure underground bunker, Khamenei praised the resilience of the Iranian people and warned enemies of Iran’s unshakable resolve.
“Those who know the Iranian nation and its history understand one thing clearly—we never surrender,” Khamenei said during Thursday’s broadcast. “We are not a nation that lays down its arms. Amidst all the noise and aggression, we have uprooted our enemies and crushed their conspiracies.”
According to a report by The New York Times, Iranian military forces relocated Khamenei to a fortified bunker in Tehran to shield him from potential Israeli and U.S. strikes. Despite rumors of his disappearance, the Supreme Leader’s live appearance was meant to send a strong message of defiance and control.
The speech came after weeks of military clashes between Iran and Israel, during which Iran launched sustained counterattacks. Khamenei congratulated the Iranian people on what he described as a “historic victory,” claiming that Israel’s plans were dismantled and its influence weakened.
Khamenei also criticized U.S. involvement in the war. “America initially expected Zionist Israel to fight Iran on its own. But when Israel started to falter and lose ground, the U.S. had to intervene to protect it,” he alleged. “The U.S. knew that if it didn’t step in, Israel would be finished.”
He added that while Iran did not gain material benefits from the war, it delivered a strong blow to its adversaries. “We’ve achieved nothing tangible in this war,” he admitted, “but we’ve shown our enemies who we are. This was a moral and symbolic victory for the Islamic Republic and a slap in the face to America.”
As tensions remain high in the Middle East, global powers continue to monitor developments closely. The Iranian leadership’s declaration of victory is expected to have significant political and military repercussions across the region, especially amid renewed fears of escalated U.S.-Iran and Iran-Israel hostilities.
