IndiGo Passengers Alert: Airline Issues Advisory as Dense Fog May Cause Flight Delays
IndiGo has warned passengers of possible disruptions to flight schedules due to dense fog conditions affecting several parts of northern and eastern India.
IndiGo passengers may face another setback as weather conditions threaten to disrupt flight operations. Due to dense fog across parts of North and East India, the airline has issued a travel advisory cautioning that some flights could be delayed, especially during the early morning hours on Wednesday.
In a statement shared on social media late Tuesday night, IndiGo said that foggy conditions are expected in several regions, leading to reduced visibility. This could slow down aircraft movements during take-off and landing, prompting delays or rescheduling of certain flights in the interest of passenger safety.
The airline assured travelers that it is fully prepared to manage the situation. IndiGo said its airport teams are on high alert and working closely to coordinate flight schedules while providing necessary assistance to passengers. However, it also warned that fog may impact road traffic, potentially increasing travel time to airports.
As a precaution, IndiGo has advised passengers to plan their journey to the airport well in advance, leave home earlier than usual, and regularly check their flight status on the official IndiGo website or app for real-time updates.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport also issued a fog-related advisory. The airport authority said that low visibility conditions could cause inconvenience to passengers and affect flight operations. While flight movement is gradually returning to normal, some delays are still likely.
The IGI Airport operator urged passengers to stay in touch with their respective airlines for accurate schedule updates. It also assured travelers that adequate ground staff and operational teams have been deployed across all terminals to manage any issues arising from the weather conditions.
With foggy conditions expected to persist, passengers are advised to remain cautious, stay informed, and allow extra time for both airport travel and check-in procedures.
