Dubai, Sept 25 (2025) – The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming Test series against West Indies, which will take place during the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 window. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar made the announcement at a press conference in Dubai on Thursday afternoon.
One of the biggest developments is that wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the series due to injury. In his place, Dhruv Jurel has been drafted into the squad. Another major talking point is the exclusion of Karun Nair, who struggled with form during India’s tour of England earlier this year.
The squad will see the return of senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who is set to spearhead the Indian bowling attack.

The last Test series between India and West Indies was played in 2023, which India won 1–0. This upcoming contest is expected to be crucial for India’s World Test Championship campaign, especially with fresh names like Dhruv Jurel and Nitish Reddy joining the squad.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar stated that the team has been picked with a balance of youth and experience, keeping in mind the workload of senior players during a packed international calendar.
