Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Punjab’s Adampur Air Base on Tuesday, just a day after addressing the nation on Operation Sindoor. He met soldiers at the base and praised their dedication. His visit came as a message of strength during ongoing tensions with Pakistan.

The ceasefire between India and Pakistan remains in place. No fresh shelling was reported in Barmer or along the border. However, security forces reported fresh firing in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian forests. An encounter is currently underway.

On Monday evening, the DGMOs of both nations held a 30-minute hotline conversation. They confirmed their commitment to the May 10 agreement. Both sides agreed not to fire or initiate any aggressive moves by land, air, or sea.

Drone Alerts and Flight Disruptions

Just hours after PM Modi’s speech, forces intercepted 10–12 drones in Samba, Jammu. Loud explosions were also heard in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. Authorities are investigating both incidents.

In response to growing security concerns, Air India and IndiGo cancelled multiple flights on Tuesday. Air India suspended services to Jammu, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot. IndiGo halted flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, and Rajkot.

Operation Sindoor: Background and Political Reactions

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7. The strikes targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). This was a response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 civilians.

In his national address, PM Modi called the attack “barbaric”. He said India’s operations have paused but not stopped. “India will judge every move by Pakistan,” he warned.

On Monday, senior officials said that India’s air defense systems repelled several Pakistani attacks between May 7 and 10. These systems protected both military and civilian assets with minimal damage.

Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar’s NCP opposed a special Parliament session to discuss Indo-Pak tensions. The party advised using regular forums to handle national security issues.

India also rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that trade talks helped stop the crisis. Officials clarified that trade was never discussed in recent talks with US leaders.
