INDIA Bloc Nominates B Sudershan Reddy as Vice Presidential Candidate
New Delhi, August 19, 2025:
In a key political development ahead of the Vice Presidential elections, the opposition INDIA bloc on Tuesday announced former Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy as its official candidate. The announcement was made by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge during a press briefing in the capital.
Reddy, a respected jurist and former judge of the apex court, brings a wealth of legal experience and integrity to the candidacy. His nomination is seen as a strategic move by the INDIA bloc to present a non-partisan figure with constitutional expertise for the high constitutional post.
Speaking to the media, Kharge said, “Justice B Sudershan Reddy is a symbol of justice, fairness, and constitutional values. We are proud to nominate him as our joint candidate for the Vice Presidential election.” He further appealed to all parties committed to democratic values to support Reddy’s candidature.
