“I’ll Launch So Many Attacks They’ll Have No Place to Hide,” Trump Announces Land Strikes on Venezuela
America vs Venezuela: The United States has declared plans for ground invasions in Venezuela to topple the Maduro regime and dismantle its drug trafficking networks. U.S. forces have surrounded Venezuela from sea, land, and air. President Trump’s goal is to oust Maduro from power, pave the way for a new government, and eradicate drug smuggling operations at their roots.
The U.S. has maintained a blockade around Venezuela for several months.
US Military Activity in Venezuela: A new war is brewing in Latin America, as U.S. President Donald Trump has announced land strikes against Venezuela. In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump stated that the time has come to act against Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. U.S. troops will now enter Venezuela for ground assaults, targeting drug traffickers for elimination and arrests.
Maduro Labeled as Narcotrafficking Chief
Tensions between the U.S. and Venezuela center on efforts to remove Maduro’s government, curb drug smuggling, impose oil sanctions, and address disputed elections. The Trump administration has branded Maduro the kingpin of narcotrafficking and encircled Venezuela to bring his regime down. U.S. Navy ships are deployed in Venezuelan waters, military aircraft patrol the skies, and oil tankers are being seized.
Eradicating Drug Smuggling Networks as Key Objective
President Trump claims Venezuela is fueling drug trafficking into the U.S., addicting Americans to narcotics. He aims to launch attacks to wipe out these networks. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have called Maduro a “narco-terrorist” in international media, while Maduro accuses the U.S. of seeking to seize Venezuela.
Accusations of Plot to Loot Oil Reserves
Maduro alleges the U.S. covets Venezuela’s vast oil reserves—the world’s largest—and is using drug smuggling as a pretext to loot them. He claims Trump labels him a dictator, plots his assassination, and seeks to remove him from power for this reason. Europe backs the U.S., while Russia, China, and Iran support Venezuela.
Preparations for Strikes on Venezuela?
The U.S. has deployed its Navy in the Caribbean to encircle Venezuela. The USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, with 15,000 troops, is blockading the country and seizing Venezuelan oil tankers. In September, the U.S. Navy conducted airstrikes on Venezuelan boats, claiming they were smuggling drugs to America, killing over 80 people.

Ultimatum for Maduro to Step Down
The Trump administration has designated Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang and Cartel de los Soles as terrorist organizations. Maduro has been given an ultimatum to relinquish power. Sanctions target the Maduro family and their business partners’ shipping companies. On December 10, a tanker with 1.8 million barrels of oil was seized off Venezuela’s coast—denounced by Maduro as maritime piracy.
