Gusty Winds, Hailstorm Lash Central Delhi Area

New Delhi, May 21 — Gusty winds, heavy rainfall, and a sudden hailstorm struck parts of Delhi this afternoon, with Pandit Pant Marg witnessing particularly intense weather conditions.

The unexpected storm brought brief chaos to central Delhi. Commuters were caught off-guard as visibility dropped and roads became waterlogged within minutes. Trees were seen swaying dangerously, while several vehicles slowed down due to reduced traction and slippery roads.

Visuals from Pandit Pant Marg show hailstones covering the roads and strong winds sweeping through the area. The downpour offered relief from the capital’s scorching heat but also led to traffic snarls.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued a warning for rain and thunderstorm activity across the NCR. More scattered showers are expected later in the evening.

No major damage or injuries have been reported so far.
