Tehran/Washington: March 29, 2026
The ongoing tension in the Middle East has reached an extremely dangerous turning point, where even educational institutions appear to be caught in the crossfire of war. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) has issued a stern ultimatum to the United States, threatening that American universities located in the region could be bombed if their demands are not met.
In a statement released Sunday morning, the IRGC alleged that two of Iran’s major universities were destroyed due to attacks by the U.S. and Israel. In response, they are now preparing for a counter-attack.
The Iranian military has explicitly stated that if the U.S. government wants its campuses in the Middle East to remain safe, it must officially condemn the attacks on Iranian institutions by 12:00 PM on Monday, March 30.
This serious warning has heightened security concerns throughout the region, as several prominent American educational institutions are located in the Middle East, housing thousands of international students and staff. Following this threat, a state of panic has emerged within U.S. diplomatic channels and security agencies, and efforts to control the situation have been intensified.
