Donald Trump’s Health Sparks Debate, White House Issues Clarification

Concerns over U.S. President Donald Trump’s health resurfaced this week after reports highlighted swelling in his hands and feet. Addressing the speculation, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt clarified that the swelling was the result of frequent handshakes during Trump’s daily public interactions.

Press Secretary’s Statement and Medical Report

Speaking at a media briefing, Leavitt assured that the condition is not serious. She confirmed that Trump has undergone a full set of medical tests, all of which indicate he remains in good health. According to official reports, Trump has been diagnosed with Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), a vein-related condition.

To remove any doubts, the White House also released Trump’s medical report. The report stated that while swelling is present, the President experiences no pain or discomfort, and he continues to remain “fully fit and healthy.”

What is Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI)?

Chronic Venous Insufficiency occurs when the veins in the legs struggle to send blood back to the heart, causing blood to pool and leading to swelling. The condition is more common among people over the age of 70, those who stand for long periods, or individuals who are overweight.

CVI is treatable with medical supervision and lifestyle changes. Treatment usually involves compression stockings, regular exercise, and weight management. Trump is currently receiving medical care under the supervision of Dr. Sean Barbella, who is overseeing his treatment.

The White House’s clarification appears aimed at quelling speculation over the President’s health as he continues to maintain a busy schedule ahead of key political events.
