Deadly Suicide Attack in Pakistan: Police Station Blown Up with Car Bomb; 5 Dead, Including Innocent Women and Children

Bannu/Peshawar: April 03, 2026

A devastating suicide attack late Thursday night has spread terror in the Bannu district of Pakistan’s volatile northwestern province, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. At least five innocent people, including three women and a child, lost their lives in a car bomb explosion targeting a police station located in the Domel tehsil.

According to police officials, the attacker rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the wall of the police station. The resulting blast was so powerful that its resonance was heard several kilometers away.

Devastation and Casualties

The massive explosion not only caused heavy damage to the police station building but also reduced the roofs and walls of several nearby houses to rubble.

  • Casualties: Initial reports indicate that the deceased were trapped under the debris of their own homes. Rescue teams have recovered five bodies so far.

  • Injured: Four police officers were critically injured in the attack and are currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.

Chaos at the Scene

Eyewitnesses reported that heavy gunfire broke out immediately following the blast, creating a curfew-like atmosphere in the area. Security forces promptly took positions and cordoned off the entire region to launch a search operation.

Rising Tensions in the Region

In recent months, there has been a significant surge in terrorist attacks targeting police and security forces in the border regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

  • Geopolitical Context: This attack comes at a critical time when border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan are high.

  • Suspected Perpetrators: The Pakistani government has repeatedly accused the banned organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) of using Afghan soil to orchestrate such attacks.

Police believe the primary objective of the attackers was to completely destroy the police station to weaken the security infrastructure in the region.
