Chandigarh Police-Gangster Shootout: 2 Suspects Shot in Legs During ₹50 Lakh Extortion Bid

Chandigarh: A fierce encounter unfolded today between Chandigarh Police and gangsters in Sector 32, where two key suspects sustained leg injuries from police gunfire. The criminals, linked to the SP Gang, were hospitalized after the clash.

Encounter Details
The injured gangsters were identified as Rahul and Ricky from the SP Gang. Three suspects were traveling in a car for a major crime when police intercepted them, leading to a shootout. Their vehicle crashed into a pole and was damaged during the exchange. The third accomplice was driving at the time of the police action.

₹50 Lakh Extortion Plot
Police sources revealed the gangsters planned to fire at a taxi stand and extort ₹50 lakh from its owner. The threatening caller identified as “Saba Gobindgarh.” The owner was warned that failure to pay would result in the same fate as the recent pharmacy shooting in Sector 32.

Link to Chemist Shop Attack
These are the same gangsters who terrorized the city days ago by firing at a chemist shop in Sector 32. Police had been tracking their movements and trapped them just before they could execute the extortion.

Police Action
Heavy police teams sealed the area immediately after the encounter and recovered weapons from the damaged car. Authorities stated Chandigarh will not tolerate gangster culture, with strict action continuing against criminals.
