In a major digital convenience initiative, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a new system that allows Class 10 and 12 students to access their marksheets digitally from the comfort of their homes. This move will benefit over 60,000 students in the Tricity region alone.
Following the announcement of board exam results, students can use the DigiLocker app to view and download their digital marksheets. Each student will require a unique six-digit code assigned specifically to their school. These codes will be sent to schools via email after the result declaration.
“Tens of thousands of students will no longer need to visit their schools to obtain their marksheets,” said Sanjay Sardana, Director of Manav Mangal School, Sector 21, Chandigarh.
Every school will receive a different code, and only students enrolled in that specific institution can use it to unlock their marksheets. Codes are school-specific and cannot be used across institutions.
To download the digital marksheet, students must:
Download the DigiLocker app on their mobile devices.
Register using their Aadhaar number and registered mobile number.
Enter the OTP (One-Time Password) to log in.
After checking the exam results, students can download the digital marksheet using the 6-digit code provided by their school.
CBSE has confirmed that these digital marksheets will be treated as authentic and valid documents. Students can use them for admissions into higher classes like Grade 11 or first-year undergraduate programs.
With over 60,000 students appearing for CBSE exams in Chandigarh and surrounding areas, this system brings convenience, saves time, and ensures secure access to academic records.
