New Delhi, May 25, 2025 – The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for by-elections in five legislative assembly constituencies across Punjab, Gujarat, Kerala, and West Bengal. These bypolls will be held on June 19, 2025, and the results will be declared on June 23, 2025.
The vacant seats include:
Ludhiana West in Punjab
Kadi and Visavadar in Gujarat
Nilambur in Kerala
Kaliaganj in West Bengal
These seats became vacant following either the demise or resignation of the sitting MLAs.
The Election Commission has urged political parties, candidates, and voters to actively participate in the electoral process. It emphasized the role of these by-elections in strengthening the country’s democratic foundation.
