Bitcoin Crash Deals Major Blow to Donald Trump, Wiping Out ₹9,800 Crore From His Wealth

U.S. President Donald Trump has suffered a major financial setback after a sharp crash in the cryptocurrency market. A sudden decline in Bitcoin’s price has wiped out over $1 billion (approx. ₹9,800 crore) from Trump and his family’s total net worth, triggering panic across global crypto markets.

Bitcoin Plunges 30% After Recent Peak

Bitcoin had surged to an all-time high of $125,000 on October 6, 2025, but unexpectedly fell almost 30%, dropping to $86,174.
This steep decline affected:

  • Trump-branded memecoins

  • Eric Trump’s cryptocurrency investment firm

  • Trump family’s broader digital-asset holdings

Despite this, Eric Trump urged investors to “double down” on their crypto positions, calling the fall a “strong buying opportunity.”

Net Worth Drops by Over $1.1 Billion in One Month

According to Forbes, Donald Trump’s total wealth has dipped to $6.2 billion, down from $7.3 billion in September—marking a direct loss of $1.1 billion in just 30 days.

A major factor behind this decline is the sharp drop in the stock price of Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the parent company of Truth Social.

In September 2025, Trump had seen his wealth rise by nearly $3 billion compared to 2024, placing him at 201st position on Forbes’ list of America’s 400 richest individuals. The recent crash may now push him significantly down the rankings.

Bitcoin Crash Follows Several Political Headlines

This financial downturn comes shortly after Trump made controversial statements about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling Ukraine’s leadership “ungrateful” and issuing an ultimatum on a peace agreement during his visit to Geneva.

Additionally, New York Mayor Mamdani recently criticized Trump, openly calling him a “fascist” after a meeting at the White House—keeping Trump heavily in political spotlight.

How Trump’s Wealth Grew Earlier

Trump’s wealth previously surged due to massive gains in cryptocurrency markets.
Trump and his three sons co-founded World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance platform launched in September 2024. The company issued WLFI tokens, which saw total trading activity exceed $100 billion at launch.
