Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim has once again come out of jail on a 21-day leave. Immediately after being released from Rohtak’s Sunaria jail, he issued a message to his followers through a video from Sirsa Dera. In this message, Ram Rahim appealed to the congregation to serve by staying at home and asked them not to come to the Dera.
He said, “This month is the month of camp establishment, your home itself is the camp. Stay there and serve.”
This is the 13th time Ram Rahim has got a chance to come out since he went to jail in 2017. This time he has come on leave for the Dera Foundation Day program to be held on April 29. This program will be organized to commemorate the 77th foundation day of the Dera.
Ram Rahim has been granted parole or furlough several times in the past few years, such as:
January 202530 days parole during Delhi elections
October 2024: 20 days parole
July 2023: 30 days leave
January 2023: 40 days leave
August 2024: 21 days leave
He spends most of his time in Barnawa or Baghpat camps in Uttar Pradesh. With each release, he interacts with his followers and sometimes even releases music videos or educational videos.
Although Ram Rahim always appeals for peace and service, questions are being raised on the frequent leave and parole granted to him. Opposition parties and many alliance parties are linking this to electoral interests.
